Did you ever watch the animated movie “Robots” starring the voices of Ewan McGregor and Robin Williams back in 2005?

Don’t worry if you’ve never heard of it – Neil is not demanding you rush off to stream it, but like Wall-E, Toy Story 3 and other “kids movies”, “Robots” had a deeper meaning – obsolescence – the process of becoming obsolete or outdated and no longer used.

Apple have been accused of doing this with their hardware. Old iPads and iPhones become obsolete when software can’t be updated or batteries replaced. You’re left with the only choice to replace.

Commercial heating is no different.

You have obsolescence either built in or inevitably occurring. Those residential and commercial boilers installed in the 60s and 70s have limited availability of spare parts and you have little choice but to replace, not repair.

Like old cars though there is some economic argument for replacing as new boilers are much more efficient with energy use.

But Commercial Heating Solutions, ably led by Neil Jones, can be your friend for repair, installations and maintenance across the commercial heating sector.

Neil has almost 30 years of industry experience in commercial heating.

We are:

  •  Gas Safe Registered: our registration number is 624002.
  • Experts in commercial boiler installations – whether LPG, gas or oil
  • Compliant – we offer annual one-off services or maintenance plans
  • Repair experts – we can be trusted to get your commercial heating back in shape

Honesty, Integrity, Reliability are our three watchwords and they apply to all aspects of our work including work on oil central heating for commercial premises.

Oil central heating is known as a “wet system”. This may surprise you but in the UK over 5 million homes and businesses are not connected to mains gas and rely on oil for heating water, homes and businesses. Unlike gas, which is literally on tap, oil is delivered and stored, as you will know if your business premises operate on oil, primarily kerosene. Oil heating offers similar and sometimes higher energy efficiency than gas with 98% efficiency eminently possible with A rated equipment.

There are other advantages too:

  • With gas prices soaring, oil works out cheaper at the moment per kWh
  • Oil boilers are easier and cheaper to replace than gas ones
  • When oil falls in price, you can stock up on supplies
  • It works hand-in-glove with sustainable energy like solar power

It’s worth noting too that oil boilers can be fitted with balanced flues or with open flues but we would suggest that a balanced flue boiler is much more versatile, efficient and can be used in more locations.

In terms of operation, they work in very much the same way as a gas-powered boiler. Using oil, they heat water that is then used to heat your radiators and provide hot water. The majority of oil fired combination boilers also feature an internal hot water store rather than relying on the on-demand heating of water most commonly found in gas combi boilers.

When it comes to commercial heating and plumbing services, it isn’t something you need every day. This makes it harder to find a reliable and trusted engineer within the industry, especially if you’ve never needed the services of one before.

That’s why we are here to help. We have a wealth of experience working in a variety of environments, including hotels, schools, industrial warehouses and even rooftops! Leaving your commercial installation to the professionals allows you to get on with the more important stuff, like growing your business and taking care of your customers.
