The past year, to put it mildly, has been a challenge for so many of us. New words have entered daily conversation like “Working From Home” and “Furlough” and the economy and peoples’ lives have been battered by Coronavirus. We’ve never known a period like it – and we’re sure you haven’t either.
As key workers though and a harsh winter, Neil has been kept busy on commercial heating projects across the UK from his base on the Wirral.
And in a year when good news has been in short supply, Neil has been awarded contracts for two major operators – Her Majesty’s Prisons and the NHS.
The prison service building as you probably know are a mixture of modern and old facilities. Strangeways in Manchester is historic – built in 1868 in fact with a huge tower that acts as a landmark and a ventilation chimney. Neil is not working here though but at HMP Berwyn, Wrexham, a modern building opened in 2007.
You’d expect, perhaps, there to be little need for commercial heating repairs and services in such a modern building. But there are issues. The prison has dual fuel boilers which other companies were reluctant or unable to maintain, but we are intrepid and Neil accepted the contractual offer and is looking forward to building a strong, professional relationship with HMP Berwyn and the Ministry of Justice.
The second piece of great news is that we’ve been accepted onto the NHS Framework for North Wales.
This is perfect too for Neil given that the company is based on the Wirral and North Wales is highly convenient (as is Wrexham).
Because we’ve completed over 100 commercial servicing projects across the residential accommodation at Wrexham hospital, Commercial Heating Solutions have won the remedial and breakdown works for the NHS Framework in North Wales.
Additionally, we always have capacity to take on other projects – as we continue to support various schools, care homes and commercial buildings throughout the UK.
